Shear in sand-lightweight and conventional high strength concrete through the push-off test

abstract: Shear design models in reinforced concrete structures depend on stress transfer through cracks. Such mechanism is influenced by the displacement and roughness of opposite faces generated during cracking. reduced when an aggregate particle fractured leading to a smoother crack as found lightweight high strength concrete. This study evaluated ultimate shear sand-lightweight conventional well differences their behavior. Results from Pereira Soares with 29 push-off test specimens were used. Transverse clamping ranged 4.79 12.71 MPa while fcm was 30 50 MPa. The experimental results showed significant studied. A tri-linear model proposed calculate strength. An overall mean value τu, exp/τu, cal 0.96.
